Beschrijving

Donated to the Nordiska Museet in 1884, the 18th-century Skenninge wallpaper, is the oldest known Swedish-made wallpaper. Its expressive baroque pattern with birds, tulips, grapes and ornaments is reminiscent of gilded leather. The pattern is printed here in gentle tones of muted green, warm rusty red, honey yellow and soft blue.
